Last year, during our four-month journey through Europe, we planned very little ahead of time. Instead, our path unfolded through conversations and recommendations from people we met.
Early in our trip, we attended The Ultimate Experience Birmingham event, we met a kind gentleman as we were leaving. He acknowledged our girls and asked about our adventure. He was surprised by how little we'd pre-planned, naturally since he was from England I asked for recommendations. His Uber arrived as we exchanged numbers, and I followed up with a quick message.
A week and a half later, he responded with a thoughtful list of places to visit. Thanks to his tips, we experienced incredible highlights in England, like Bath, Devon, Cornwall, and Stonehenge. His advice enriched our trip.
I'd been meaning to thank him for months. Yet, each time the thought came up, I told myself, “It's been too long,” or, “It doesn't matter anymore.” Those excuses delayed me, and the weight of that incomplete gesture lingered.
On January 3, 2025, I finally chose to Be Free and Clear of this matter and sent him a message.
As soon as I hit send, I felt a sense of freedom and lightness. That small action released a mental burden I'd been carrying for months.
