Where is perfection holding you back?
On a call recently, a woman shared she was struggling with perfectionism. It made me reflect on my own past of chasing perfection—a pursuit that left me feeling unaligned and never good enough.
The dictionary defines perfection as making something “faultless or as close to faultless as possible.” Striving for this can lead us to equate perfection with zero faults, creating an unrealistic bar.
In 2015, I shifted my mindset with my coach’s help. I let go of the need to be faultless and instead chose to be “I am a stand for excellence.” This change empowered me and aligned with my values, freeing me from the fear and weight of imperfection.
After hearing her, I reflected and found the idea of perfectionism had snuck in. I caught myself delaying sharing RV stuff, waiting for things to be “just right.” This was the same old trap.
Where is perfectionism holding you back? Are you waiting for the perfect moment, fearing judgment, or believing you need to be flawless before taking action?
